dash query? instrument cluster

hi all, i want to get the digital side of the dash working, ie the bit in the centre at the bottom which tells you mpg ect?

any ideas where to start?

need a little more info, doesn't the display work? is it blank? pic of the clocks just to confirm and what car are you enquiring about.

1989 mk1 gti cab the display seems like part of it is missing if u understand, do u have a number and il text u a pic?

ok so only some of the digits are showing? or its gone half black? if so its probably dead and you need another cluster. try pulling the dash fuse for 30 seconds though
