Can anyone help me?

Recently during the awful weather I went through a puddle that turned out to be deeper than I thought. As a result of this my headlights packed up. When I operate the switch all I get now is my nearside sidelight. No headlight or main beams.

In the past, a previous owner has fitted an "uprated" (I use the term loosely) loom from another VW that contains the two relays pictured below:



I'm sorry about the rubbish photo, I only have my phone to take pictures with, but does anybody have any idea what VW they are from? Mk2 Golf? Mk3 polo?

I'm pretty it's these that have packed up due to water ingress but I need to know what they are so I can source some replacements!

Any help greatly appreciated!

Crikey, they used to have a round just like this on "Ask the Family" with Robert Robinson in the 70s.  Or am I the only one old and sad enough to remember that?

they look like a standard 4 pin relay you could buy from any motor factors.
probably blown a fuse check the following wires.
have they got numbers 85 86 87 30 on it
check youve got a perm live going to pin 30 will prob go straight to battery via a fuse.
either 85 or 86 will be a live from from stalk the other of them will be earth.
if they all work  87 should be the feed to the lights.
