broke ECU?

havent been able to get a spark so cut the wire going to pin 2 which is earth pulse sinal  to amplifier when i put this to earth the coil pin arcs high voltage provin coil ok, if connect coil lead and touch to earth then the distributor just makes noise of the rotor arm arcing, so could it just be hall sender::/?
