strange indicator problem

hi chaps, i have a problem wth my indicators, when i flick 1 of them on, all i get is the light staying on permanently on the dash board, the indicator doesnt light up at all, im sure its not the flasher unit as the hazards work fine

anybody have any idea what it could be?

Your 4 way flasher switch is faulty

oh, well they were working fine a few hours ago, i think it might be a dodgy connection, because i moved my fuse box and since then it aint worked

cheers lads, il try this later and hopefully it might shed some light on the subject, but it does sound about right as the light on the dash does glow dimly at all times, but strange how it should just fail on me when i have been using them all day, oh well, fingers crossed!

I had exactly the same thing, there was a fault in the hazard switch that had blown a fuse. I reassembled the hazard switch and replaced the fuse and now all is peachy….ish.  :lol:

1989 MK1 VW Golf GTi Cabriolet, 'All White Edition' - currently having a new blue roof fitted. Yes it's not white but it requires less Cif to clean :)

I got the same problem, hazards work but indicators dont, and there is always that dim light. I tried the fused and they all ok. mmmmm

Take your hazard switch apart, check the springs and clean all the contact points. Sorted mine a treat.

Try a new relay and a new hazard switch

The hazard switch is ?10.72 from VW
