Silicon Hoses

So I don't really understand silicon hoses beyond them looking nice and you can choose colours.

For a standard 1.6 gti is there any point advantage.

I need to overhaul the cooling system as it does not seem to circulate very well with impossible air locks each time I drain it.

So new pump and thermostat for sure but while I am at it maybe hoses if there is any point. Rad looks relatively new so will focus on a flush for that only in the first place.
