Stupidity of insurance companys
The woman at Peter James laughed and catagorically told me it was not a classic and stop wasting her time.
OK it wasn't a mk1 golf. But things like ventos, passats, k70 are rare - maybe a dozen RHD cars left.
With stupid ignorant comments like hers there won't be any to look at. Rare cars are not listed. Who gave her permission to decide what is or isn't a classic?
At one time cars over 15 years old could go on a modern classic policy. These companies need a kick up the backside.
Shop around /go elsewhere!

Scarcity and Rarity are two different issues.
My 93 Cabriolet has factory Stickers on it that state
"Classic Edition" as all 93's on this side of the pond have as a last of it's line testimony.
Rarity over here would be my Brothers 1939 Packard Touring. It is also a classic. But then again his 68 VW "Hippie Van" is as well as his 72 Super Beetle Cabriolet, as well as his and my 58, and 60 Frog-eyed AH Sprites.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

I had a classic motorcycle policy with them & two years ago I got knocked off my bike by a woman who wasn't looking where she was going (I spent four days in hospital with 6 broken ribs, punctured lung etc & my bike was written off).
The woman admitted liability but Peter James were really hard work, slow, not passing communications on & scamming me on the value of the bike, basically made me feel like it was my fault.
So please be aware before using Peter James!
