Is anyone else guilty of this or is it just me?
Im my wife ever goes in the loft she'll have a fit, over the last 6mths I've picked up sets of MFA clocks, complete sets of waistline trims and last night I purchased a wolfsburg wheel that I have no intention of fitting.
This is without all the little bits that came with the car or bits I've kept since replacing them.
I'd be the american pickers worst nightmare as I dont want to sell any of it either

I've got some stuff for a Mk2 Golf and I sold that car 9 years ago but I did try and sell some of it but they did not sell, I've a good mk2 Golf front wing (pattern part) which did not sell at 99p, I just don't want to scrap it…..

I may Pare down my parts, but I will not part with them that I deem are too necessary for continued enjoyment and least amount of down time.
I am very grateful that years ago I started buying all the old Diesel Metal water-outlet flanges that I could find, once I noticed that my 90 had plastic ones…
As now I am down to only 2 plastic bits on my one Cabby, and 3 on my other. Radiator matrix on one, then both still have the Heater Core, and heater Valve…. I have since had to acquire a Solid Aluminum Radiator for my BABY… and to be honest wasn't that much more than an OEM plastic/Aluminum one…..Much Cooler and almost too pretty to install.
I am but a piker as compared to my Brother, who has to buy new Houses and Stores to contain his parts and things. He may have more toys, to redo than Time left on this world…. But he can drive most of them where I can drive all of mine at any time.
His Obit will say Funeral at 10am, Auction starts at 2…
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

Parts hoarding
I also have a problem of removing tired looking parts and replacing them with better looking parts. BUT I then keep the old parts under the promise (lies) that I will one day refurbish and/or powder coat them to refit.
My rear beam is powder coated and ready to have discs fitted but once done it will sit there for months/years before actually being fitted.

Parts for mk1's parts for Rallye golfs, parts for R32's mk5 gti, Audi Rs3's
Wheels, tyres, grilles hanging on the ceiling, seats, badges lol
Its not hoarding its keeping it for a rainy day
I have spates of selling stuff online, helps pay for the other things that need replacing or fixing
I only keep good stuff, and id only sell stuff id be happy to keep myself, if its junk it goes in the bin!
