Post

Hi guys,

I’m looking for some coilovers on my cabby.

Am looking at either the KW V1 or BC Racing coilovers.

Has anyone got any advice or recommendations on either?

Thanks!

Only ever used bc.

Can't fault them, I have them on my mk2 also.

I noticed the BC coilovers have a selection of spring rates what does everyone advise?

Don't mean to jump on post but may be helpful to you also [emoji848]

Well in a mk1 the softer the better.

I had a set on a small block swallowtail and went 5/3.

6/5 would be good though I reckon in a big block car.

Can't comment on BC stuff as never used it, but had multiple sets of KW V1's on different VWs over the years and have the VW heritage KWV1 classic kit on my current cab, (they are gold with black springs instead of that awful purple and yellow ensemble you usually get) same kit as used on scirocco etc listed on the heritage website
Really good kit thats not going to knock your teeth or spine out but is nice when you want to push it a little

Hi

Did you get a set in the end would be interested to know what you went for ?

I'm thinking BC for me just need to work out what stiffness as going 20v

Recently fitted BC's, very happy with them, the ability to adjust ride height without changing spring preload is a big bonus, and the 30 clicks of damping adjustment allows me to make it soft on the road and stiff for the track.
I have know KW's crack the adjustment collars in the past.
