Engine bay clean

Just wondering what's the best way to clean my mk1 cabriolet engine bay with ? With the spare time I have in the coming weeks what you all suggest?

Depends if just dirt or loads of waxoil

Mine has loads of waxoil in it so I have to solvent it with a brush and wipe clean with old rags.  

For the intake I took a brass brush in a drill and simply attacked it.

Got bored very fast but still looked a lot better.
