I'm now in the sad  position to admit to myself this car is never going to get finished. Time and money constraints aside my simple lack of skill at fixing things has led me to conclude I will never finish this project

This 1983 Golf Driver 1.3 with stacks of history was taken off road and SORN by me in late 2007. It's been garaged ever since and all in all the 3 door shell has absolutley minimal rot - just a bit where the original arch covers were and that's about it - all around filler cap, bootlid, doors, sills and slam panel are clean

This model has an aftermarket glass sunroof so I appreciate it's not the ultimate shell but it's a lovely clean and ultimately unmolested example.

Originally a running car, I bought this with the full intention of turning it into a GTI spec with a paint job and a new engine

Once I started taking bit off I just got a bit overwhelmed

I've bought and sold stuff ever since and currently have a full set of new front wings, rear arch repair panel, 8v DX and 16v KR engines, looms, gti interiors, different alloys, new Fuel rails, new tank , bronze glass windscreen and god knows what else sat in the garage - spent many an hour buying bits rather than fixing stuff.
