Sold Orig Golf Clipper 1988

It's a gold Golf Cabriolet 1988 model 1800 carb. The car is totally standard, even has the plastic inner arches under the wheel arches, all original paint and panels and only the odd bit of cosmetic rust, although one dorr has a large patch that will need attention. Interior is very clean and car was previously owned for a very long time by a lady driver who just grew too old for it. Reason for selling i have an alsation Pup that has now fully grown, the dog hasn't been in the car and i wouldn't want to wreck it with taking her out in it. I need a hatchback of some sorts.

?850 with Mot

the iffy door

It was moted about 2 weeks ago.
If it doesn't go i'll tax it and begin the insurance as of May 1st. (no point buying tax for April is there).
As mentioned does have a couple of rusty spots (middle of passenger door) but a very very simple project and a good price.

I really do need a car with a hatch back, i've toyed with the idea of removing the parcel shelf and maybe my dogs can fit in the boot, but then it won't look good and i wont have speakers.

Feel free to come and see and please bear in mind the roof is excellent and if you've had one of these that leaked you'll now how hard it is to maek it water tight (got to add ?300 to its value i reckon).

Oh and insurance company's will help you because it's not the GTi and it's over 20 yrs old.

Oh i have lots of old mots, the oil was changed last year and think it's still green. One key fits all, and there's the usual tonneau cover in the boot. Basically a tidy genuine car in original paint which is evident from the original Clipper decals still in place., no rusty bits hidden with resprays. You'll see it at it's worst and you can see whether you want a simple project. A new door or filler sprayed. Interior is very nice condition with rare brown dashboard and trims, it looks a lot more modern colour than the harsh black.

I have the two original keys for the car and still has the little metal tag with key serial number.
Also  the fuel filler neck is a particular weak point on these cars, luckily my one is good.
