Mk 1 1.8 GTI, real genuine car !

I'm advertising this for a customer of ours, he's been finally talked into buying a new easier car to drive.
Luckily he couldn't part ex, or partake in the scrappage scheme for his beloved Mk 1 GTI 1800cc
 
this has been in the same family for 26 years, first owned my his son for couple of years then he took on, it's been his daily and only driver since then [:y:]
 
In the past couple of years it's only done a couple thousand miles each year, most of the history from new is with the car, with possible bill of sale!!
All recent service history has been with Simon @ Central VW Audi, MOT has recently expired due to getting a new car, Road tax runs out Jan '10
new clutch 18-24 months ago
Its been kept in the garage forever, a very genuine car ideal for a purist

The Owner wants ?1500 for it , ONO
 
I'll list any poor points that relate to the appropriate picture, you'll see from the pics for a 26 year old motor it's had a easy life
 
Drives OK for the little milage I've done in it, on a road test

Bit of rust where the wax oil didn't get to in the factory, original wing looks like it can be saved, NS decent

little bit off scuffing on arch, rust coming thought around filler cap, the filler neck had been replaced couple years earlier

floor solid, VW jack still in boot

 
wear on side bolsters, and both front seat what i thought was mold, but no its fur bobbles !!
 
I believe the Black cloth is still available at one of our Local re trimmers

 
 
rears are mint []
 

 
211,286 miles, the oil pressure buzzer has occasionally cam on of late, oil pressure tested as OK by Central VW, cause a faulty diode in on back of dash pod

 
Radio inop, just went off one day, guessing fuse might of popped
 

 
 

 
 


 
 


 
 
Only other visual bit of rust on rear valance, around the towing eye, repair panels available
