Looking at selling the Cabriolet that has been with us now for 7 years.

If you have been around SVAG for any time then I am sure you will know the car, However here is a list of what has been done to it

A little history first, back in 2003 we went to the GTI International and was staying in a B&B. Parked outside was a Mk.2 Golf and we were not that far from the show so we both guessed that they were there to go to the GTI International.

Turns out that was the case and we met Kev at the Breakfast table, Got chatting with our new found North East England mate and it went along the lines of. We are looking to buy a new car at the show today, He said what are you after? our reply, Lee is after her dream car a Mk.1 Cabby……..Kev paused and said I have one and maybe looking to sell. Lee then said that she had looked at a couple and really wanted the Blue Rivage model but knew they were hard to get……….Kev smiled and went "no way man, thats what I have………"

So we  arranged to go to Sunderland the following week to see the car. That day we bought it and drove it back to our house in Fife..Since then we have stayed great freinds with Kev.

The first 4 years of life (With us) it was used daily and parked on the street. The last 3 years its been kept in a garage and only coming out to play in the summer (We had a baby in that time and there is ZERO boot space so not practical)

So thats the reason for the sale, we covered less than 400 miles last year. and the year before that it was similar - we are just not using it enough and it deserves to be used. Dont laugh we bought a caravan as well so that the little lad can have some great family memories so I guess the car will be used even less.

Lastly before any posts about being silly, this car has been loved its so much fun to drive but everything has its day and it looks like someone else will enjoy the cabby in 2010

Lots of info on the car and its history, all I can say is that we bought the car for a little over £4000 and we have spent around £8000 in 7 years on this car. It wont take that much to get it to almost perfect spec.

Here are some pics. Car will come with a full years MOT due in April and 6 months tax. Selling as is with the little job needing doing on the paintwork and the alloys needing done. Also if you want to make the leather tip top then thats up to you.
