 Description:
I got this car in the summer of 2002, soon after I had a front end  crash (not my fault). I drove it home at the time (obviously radiator damaged). I had it sorn and pulled out/front panel replaced. At this time the car also had a respray in original colour (metallic Grey/gun metal), leather seats were bought/fitted and new roof installed. I have pictures of repair and rebuild process and will share with any serious offers.
Toad alarm fitted microwave sensor installed so you can arm the alarm even when the roof is down. Door, boot and bonnet sensors also installed have all reciepts of installation as insurance companies usually ask for proof.

I have repaired and serviced the car myself:
- rear frame for window replaced
- filler neck replaced/tank cleaned out
- BBS bodykit fitted
- Front gas shocks fitted
- Stripped carburettor and rebuild with new gaskets and seals

- More recently had new battery
- alternator (new part)
- water pump replaced (new part)
- Rear bearings/brakeshoes renewed

Installed GTI oil temp/pressure and volt meter dials wiring in place needs connecting to complete job. K&N air filter installed, GTI alloys with michelins all round (all good tread all well legal).

Prior to me getting the car it looks like someone has installed a mk2 driver 1.8 L engine and GTI gearbox.

Couple of things with bodywork worst being slight carpark dent on nearside rear wing, slight bubbling on nearside windscreen pillar and offside base of door.(see pics).

Overall the car is solid always commented on by the MOT mechanics and on the last test only failed on a cracked front number plate. To be honest I would prefere not to sell but the fact I'm running two vehicles in this day and age I cannot afford to keep it on the road and I would rather someone who is going to look after and use it + be able to enjoy it.
The car has been my daily drive for the past 4 years and apart from the alternator going it's never not started or failed on me. Took me to france (Rochechouart) and back was a joy there and the way back.

I have had an offer I thought I'd offer it the the MK1 masses as the website and users have helped me in the passed
.
Any interest PM me any comments or advice welcome
cheers all
