wing mirror replacement?!?!?

i have a broken the wing mirror glass and need to replace it but vw will only sell me the whole wing mirror, lume and all?! while halfords stick over mirrors don't fit properly?! can anybody please tell me where i can get a straight replacement and how to change it?

it's just the glass that's broken and i want to replace it with an original piece but i don't know where to get one apart from a scrap yard and then i don't know how to remove it without breaking it????????

you cant, i had timski replace the whole thing for me yesterday as it was easier then trying to get the glass off with out breaking it, sorry dude.

i may have a mirror you can have for a very small sum, i'm off to the unit tomorrow night, so i'll have a look at how tidy it is  :wink:

any help would be gratefull but unfortunately i have just had my golf re-sprayed so i would have to get the wing mirrors sprayed to match i presume?
