help with leak

hi, ive been stripping my interior. i know there was a bit of a leak from my windscreen but ive sealed that up. while i was stripping it i poured water all over it, a very small amount of water came in, i m prett sure it was coming from th mounting screws that hold the bonnet catch lever in the passenger footwell. i had a look to see where it would have come from and  my speaker cable grommet in the door shut was shredded and wet, would it come from there? is it a known leaky spot, and where can i get another grommet.

yes.
make sure there is a dip in the wire (i.e a low spot so the water drips from that not running into the car)

oh ok, well i removed the wire as i have no stereo in the car. after messing around with various cd players, speakers, amps, set ups. and only ever got very tinny, rattly sound from them, i decided with this mk1 i would invest in an ipod
ive just been stripping all speaker wires and speakers and cassete player and chucking them all in a bag. i was pretty suprised at the weight of it all!!  so ive now fitted the proper cubbyhole in its place.

so ill be looking for grommets without the wire hole tomorow, halfords should do one im hoping.

try a motor factors or a scrappy before halfords. hell try VW before halfrauds they'll still be cheaper.

ok got some grommets and stripped alot of the underlay off the bulkhead, such a shame its had tp come out as it was aobviously the forst time its been removed.

is it at all possible that the water comes in through the bonnet window gap. onto the bonnet release cable and down through the bulkhead nd into the footwells. i know it seems a long shot but im pretty sure this is where its been coming in. because the side carpet trim bit was only wet from the bonnet catch down.???
