Getting rid of a sunroof
My car's got an aftermarket sunroof that doesn't work and has been bodged shut. I bought it because everything else about it was spot on, but I can't live with this sunroof and don't want a replacement. Has anyone tried repairing a hole? and can you get them 100% again?

Best bet is to get hold of a non sunroof roof and cut a patch to weld the hole up. A decent body shop should be able to do that for you…
Alternative is to replace the entire roof panel.

Roofs are easy to get hold of but welding up the hole is a different matter,if you jst want to fill the area you will get loads of distortion on the roof when you weld it up and lots of ripples everywhere, you need to replace a bigger section or the whole roof to avoid it i`m afraid.
keep on keeping on

Try Crazyquiff - he's got a non-sunroof roof in stock I'm sure

A friend of mine, who used to have a body shop, filled the hole on the a volvo and you couldn't tell, he didn't weld it in due to destortion. he used an epoxy glue for metal (Something he got from the paint supplier) and you couldn't tell.
Go see a decent body shop they should be able to help.

i would definately like to find out some more info on the epoxy glue for metal.
im not going to the extreme of getting rid of the sunroof completely but ive got a rusty patch next to the sunroof of about 1 inch square which im worried about, it hasnt holed yet but im planning a mini resto in the new year.
if this epoxy stuff is the business then it could be the answer to my problems!!
if anyone finds any info then pls post it.

Got a non sunroof today myself. 350 quid though. Think I'm going to keep it though put my g60 in it and use the other for track days or sell it. I'll have to see what's behind the bodykit when that comes off.
