Front Windscreen Pillars.

Hi,

Looking for a bit of advice here. I've got a little bit of rust at the bottom of each windscreen pillar on the inside which I know from reading your buyers guide can be difficult to repair. Has anyone done this themselves or had it done professionally? It's a 1983 GTi.

I can post a pic to show the extent of the problem if it would help? I'm tempted to remove any flakes of paint/loose rust and treat with a corrosion inhibitor until I get a chance to look at it thoroughly.

I've also got a fair bit of rust at the back of the spare wheel well. It's not rusted through, but I'm guessing if I was to take a screwdriver to it I'd manage to poke it right through with just a wee bit of effort. Anyone repaired this before? I'm not too concered about a prefect finish as it's not a particularly visible part of the car.

Any advice very welcome!
