corroded screw

replacing filler pipe…

took off gasket…

2 screws fine, as new, removed nae bother.

one is corroded and i can't unscrew it.

please help(urgent)

Don't drill it. Use an impact driver, and lots of Super Crack.

now, all i have to do is wikipedia impact driver and source some super crack….hopefully not as illegal as it sounds.

I agree with malc c on this one,drill the head of the screw off,it will only take 5 secs with a decent drill bit,a impact screwdriver if used incorrectly has a good chance of denting and distorting the body panel.

Euro Car Parts do it - its nothing special. Normfest Super Crack, for stucked screws.

Would the Health & Safety Exec. not object to someone using a drill on a fuel filler pipe (fumes, sparks, kaboom  8O etc) soz, no expert, so no idea!!
Do have one question tho'

Is a corroded screw the same as rotten sex?????????????  8O  

air drill it out easy job

no rotten sex is enjoyable as long as you use nessesary precautions
E.G 3x condoms (just to be safe)
shaved nuts
paper bag (optional for her/him)
4 pints of stella (optional for you)

to the point, dont use an impact driver because as the name suggests "impact" it requires thwatin repeatedly with a hammer/ brick/ baseball bat, i tend to use a hammer cos it looks more professional, but the pannels on a car arnt exactley up to a beatin especially with the bat,

when i did mine i undid every thing i could exept the 1 screw stuffed a rag in the filler neck to stop bits flyin into the tank, an drilled it out, just go steady an dont drill too far good look with the rotten sex too

If the screw head is not too bad you could try and cut it to get a screw driver on it using a small file. Other than thet you need a set of easy outs, These require you too drill into the head a small distance then the easy out is used to remove the whole screw. Dont waste your money on the cheap ones. i would drill the head off and when you get the filler neck out you can grip whats left of the screw with a pair of mole grips and turn the rest out, easy!!!
