boot lock key missing

I've not got a key for my cabrio's boot.  I thought the ignition key would fit but it doesn't. :cry: A friend has told me there is a number on the barrel so I can get a key cut.
I've pushed the button in as I was told but can't see any numbers.
Can anyone help me and tell me where to look??

I think you will need a new lock. Don't think you can code the boot locks?

not easily no, its held together with a split pin but theres no way to push it out as its butted up to a flat plate if that makers sence. if you drill a hole in the plate or m anaged to wedge summat thin between the pin & plate to lever it that could work
