starting problem

bought 1600gti previous owner rebuilt engine new gearbox etc etc but lost intrest and sold as a non runner. Car is all back together but for some reason the engine is turnning over on the first turn of the key and not on the second starter turn any ideas.

check all the earth connections

check the red/black and black wires are the right way roudn on the starter
