Cutting out when cold
My '84 gti cab keeps cutting out at junctions when warm. I've had a scan through haynes but it's rubbish. I'm thinking it's the auxillary air valve located near the oil filter but don't know how to test it.
Any help??? :dontknow:

Chairman
- Start your car from cold
- Locate the pipe connected to it which bends around and down the back of the inlet manifold
- Squeeze it shut and your revs should drop, this indicates the valve working, which I believe it should be open.
Then as your engine warms up it should close (I assume I got it right way around lol)
So you run the car, drive it for a while till it's warm and repeat the same steps, this time your revs shouldn't drop, if they do, then it's kerry packared.
I hope this helps.
It's out fo a K/KE-Jectronic book I borrowed from a mate when I thought mine was shot.
