what is the BHP for the standard mk1 golf 1.6?

any one know what the bhp is for a standard 1.6 mk1 golf?

85 hp iirc sure there was a 75 hp as well  :?

thanks mate just this lad whi is buyin one thinks his has 120-130 bhp and all he has on it is a k&n filter…just prooving him wrong..lol

1.6 GTI was 110bhp. Was there any other 1.6 or where the carbies 1.5s??? If 1.5 they where @70bhp. 1.1 = 55 and 1.3 = 60bhp (I think). Also I think the earlier, mid 1970s cars may have had slightly different outputs.

Yep, you're right, 110 BHP. I think there were 1.6 Carbs as well as 1.6 injections

Power as follows:

1588 cc (EG, inj) = 110 bhp
1588 cc (FP, carb) = 75 bhp
1471 cc (FH, carb) = 70 bhp
1471 cc (CK, diesel) = 50 bhp
1457 cc (JB, carb) = 70 bhp
