cutting out problem..

Hi

I have a 76 golf 1600cc carby  and I am having a problem with fuel supply I guess..

the engine starts fine and idles fine.

BUT after I put down the accel pedal making rpm 4~5k and release on stationary

rpm comes back to 1000 and then suddenly cuts out..

It happens more often while driving than on a stataionary.

I never cuts out just on idling. and it only happened when engine was cold

but and it just happens all the time while driving…

I changed fuel filter.. but didn't get better at all.


could it be mixture adjustment? or blocked fuel line? or fuel pump?

car goes well on an accelation though. after realing the accel and put neutural on a gear It happens..
