bursting hoses!

i got a nice 1.5 GL
its awsome and runs strong

twic in the last week its burst a cooling hose!

my background is aircooled( my experiences this week seem to suggest this is preferential )

2 things
first where can i get replacement hoses, as VW have told me they are obsolete :evil:

now i drve the car for 50 miles and it wa fine
i stopped for 5 minutesand drove into town the heat shot up and ten dropped
i parked up to check it hadnt burst another, and noticed they were fine but seemed very pressurised, &bulging

i just got the car
it has no thermostat in it as yet as the old one was sticking
so over 100 ,iles it ran with the needle pointing to the left about 25% up seeming cool
it isnt raising before the problems, except as discribed above but thats the first

waterllevel seems fine in the rad, its a top fill, and is about 4inches from the top

Your hoses may just be failing due to age , i had 3 go in a week , if not its head gasket failure pressurizing the coolant system .
