'87 Clipper 1.8 Carb: Knocking (stops when turning left)

Hi all,

I hope you can help I have a 1987 Clipper 1.8 Carb and I have recently noticed a knocking from front. I can hear it more at low speeds and it seems to go away when turning left. Any ideas? I have jacked up and felt for wheel bearing play, but that seemed to be OK.
