hi in response to your quistion is it a pig to do the rear arches ?
mmmmmmm
i would suggest that you make sure you know what you are getting involved with lol
no  not really you just have to have the guts to go threw with it
first you have to cut the arches off including the inner arch
then you have to cut and shape the new arch repair panel so that it bubbles out the way you want it
weld the inner arch to the outer skin then weld the formmed repair panel to the car
a bit of filler and shapping not including the paint work
But and its a very big but you have to make sure that your wheels will not catch in the new archs ,,,,,  the reason i say this is because mine is running mk2 16v/G60 hubs on the front with coilovers on the front and spaced out with stub axle spacers on the rear  lowered on Koni adjustable shoks on the rear …… so when it was all fitted up it looked fine but when you had people in the car and went over bumps it would catch and grind on the wheels/archs to remedy this i had to raise the car 20 mm and now its brilliant
