Spot welding
Ok i have gone and bought myself a new sip spotmatic m2 spotwelder which has arrived this morning, however in the manual for it it says about it only being suitable for non domestic ie not for use at home, so i am confused here, 240v single phase 50hz whats the problem? heres the spec btw 8)

Anyone else have one of these welders? do you have problems on the supply at home? it is going to need a 16a socket and 20a trip but i will just stick a seperate circuit in the garage for that, i decided to pay the hundred extra because it can weld zinc coated steel which sounded ideal for sills etc where you can get to to paint later on

hi , i dont have a spot welder , but i,ve just finished wiring up my mates garage , and i put in seperate sockets for the welder and compessor
the welder i wired up to a 20 amp breaker and we,ve had no problems with that . but most of the time it will run of a normal socket , if you,ve got a seperate breaker for your garage , just give it ago before installing new wiring , the worse that can happen is that you'll blow a fuse or the breaker . cheap that rewiring if it works

Do you know it's now against the law to make changes to electrical instalations in homes without corect certification?
I hope your putting in a cable to the curcuit breaker with enugh capacity, either 30A Ring ( 15A cable ) or 30A Spur on 30A cable. And the same to the outlet.
