I have just joined this site today, after buying a rolling shell yesterday. Here she is:
I will be going to BUG Jam in the morning to try and get some inspiration

Hopefully you will make a decent car out of it. A restored MK1 is always a good Mk1!!

This morning I took the Bonnet, Boot and doors off the shell. compltely stripped the doors to component level as the the glass needed to come out to be cleaned. One of the previous owners had managed to spray body paint all over them! they have now been cleaned and are actually see through now!! I have also degreased the door locking mechanisms and the holder-open things too. Got the bonnet latch off and degreased also as will need new bonnet. Cleaned the doors up a little bit, there was all sorts of nasty stuff stuck to the skin inside the door, that is mostly off and I gave them a powerwash with heavy duty degreaser ready to sand down for spraying.
Got the firewall sound lining off in prepeartion for panelling the clutch cable point in the firwall as has been botched.
Got the engine tarning over on Friday whcih is good, have bought a new fuel pump as I suspect the diaphram has gone in the old one. Hopefully can get her ruinning before I drop the enigine out ready to start preping the body. Currently running a 1.3 I think. Can anyone tell me where the engine number is placed on the engine so I can confirm engine type please? Many Thanks.
Also started sanding down boot seal are of body as very grubby want to make sure that no more welding is needed there.

She is pretty solid. Not much needs doing, but going to give her a good seeing to anyway so that she'll last for years to come.
