series 1 golf LS-GREEEEEN

hello everyone,
been ages since iv posted up on here  
so anyway here is my mk1 golf LS,bought it off ebay this time last year,set off from sheffield to pick it up from guildford at 7am and returned home the next day at 3am,the worlds worst journey stuck on the m1 for 9 hours in snow.its fun driving an mx5 in snow though  8) my dad drove the golf and suprisingly it didnt miss a beat.was all worth it in the end
when i picked it up,

mx5 shows how bad the snow was



started playing around with wheel ideas and ordered coilovers,



these didnt give the look i wanted so they went back on the mx5 and i bought a set of ronal turbos,
coilovers got fitted too,





now its looking a bit more how i want it,but that old raspy 1.3 engine wasnt thrilling me
but i wanted to go for something different,small but fast.so i modified a 1.3 polo gt engine with a 1.6 golf engine
1.6 golf head and block,modified inlet manifold for polo gt mpi with mk2 gti bigger injectors,polo gt ignition,ecu,gearbox etc
basically a 1.6 gt,and it suprised me how much torque and go it had
so in it went,with straight through exhaust system









time to take it to the pod for big bang

also how rare is this colour?i havnt seen any other mk1s the same shade of green

loads of plans still to complete
sort out all the little rust spots,fix up the interior,paint the underneath and waxoil it all
cage,new wheels and one day air ride

thats a very nice looking mk1 mate,that green is lovely  8)

what road you see it on mate?i moved it this morning due to the bloke across the road having all his cars burnt out
it wasnt your mk1 cabby was it as that was one of the victims  

in farncombe near guildford. i guess the guys house you got it from ?

Not posted since December 2011 but pleased to announce I did a full rotisserie restoration and actually finished it.

Engine wise it's a polo gt 1.3 engine
Ported and polished head
Megajolt ignition 
Bike carbs
4 branch


 Body wise it had 
2 new sills ,2 front chassis leg sections, 1 rear chassis section, 2 rear inner arches, Filler neck area repaired, Repairs here and there
Shaved engine bay.
 Full respray top and bottom literally took me years of on and off work and Iv done way too much to list

 Here's some pics of the resto in no peticular order as I'm rushing this on my phone before I go to work haha

Glad to see you kept the colour, think it may be an early Driver rather than an LS looking at the colour and the trim around the tail lights in your early pictures.

Think the Driver was a UK spec model so may still officially show as LS on the log book.

That makes sense, I thought it was a driver and looked on logbook and it said ls

definately a driver model. My sister had one in 89 exact same colour.

The early drivers only came in 3 colours I'm sure. This bright green, yellow and orange.

all like hens teeth now.

Yes its a driver colour and here is my orange Driver which was at the AGM show. Anyone got the other colour?
