projet tank

my mate took the car of the road in 2005 and it stood under a car port
till mid 2009. when i offererd to store it as he was haveing some building work done and needed the space.

so the car stood in my lock up for a mounth or two and then i poped the question to me mate CAN I BUY IT he had this car from 3 years old it was
a big thing for him https://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/uploads/pbextract/1000691/vwgolfmk1058.jpgbut after a week we did a deal and the projet started.

so i whent shoping for the bits .

so got me bits lets get going.this is a before

new cv jonts x2 outers heres old and new

new spring and shocks

spring caps were hard to find so i had to clean them up here thay

and fished after id drop one and put them in the
kichin overn and bubbled the paint
and started again

so bracks now got some upraterd discs and green stuff pads on thay go

some new wish bones and some bushes and ball jonints

now for the anti roll bar and bushes plus some stainlles
steel clamps at this point ive decoverd crazy queffs

look at the old and new bush

well thats the front done now the back end now.
axl of and it looked poor :dontknow:

so set to work painting and cleanig
and here se is finshed.

then the fuel tank same thing cleaning and painting

heat shield needed some tlc to

a qwick bit of paint . and now the fuel pump and basket and the sender same thing clean and paint .

not much left of the old one

the under body. no welding needed just a clean and yep you ,ve got it painting
done now here it is

so thats it for now break lines next and fuel lines to come then some bits can go back on then its body work.
ok here some pics of me doing me new lines the black band you can see is a cut up inner tube of a bike a top tip i got off this site thanks to g60go  it helps holding the two lines in place when fitting and thay look nice and neet when finshed.

oh my hair gone. thanks mo for the photo skills ill let it slide because of all your help

the old lines

some nice braeided brake lines have gone on and replaced all copper lines
the lines

and a new pump just incase the old one put in the spare bin 8)
