ok got some stripping done today, all rear parts, seats and started glass
rear bench metal bars are close to door card on removal, thought i was going to damage them!!

Not quite sure but the sunroof looks a bit like mine, which was sort of sandwiched together with a surround section, so is was bolted from the inside.

thanks rubix, yes you are right, its got a seal in between the 2 plates and has about 20 screws from the inside, the top is also bonded

Only asking as wasn't sure if you were looking to re-fit it or do away with it all together.
You could cut a big hole in your roof and fit a nice webasto roof conversion

Nige did a great job at this and I sat in his Golf one year at the AGM when it was peeing down with rain and it was water tight.
