Project KAK 19 november 08 update

here she is KAK herself, my first project car that will keep me happy for some years to come! Picked it up 2day, and got it back home and started stripping, first off was the kamei bodykit which looked gash (it was a bit cracked as well) but now thats off it looks so better! Also off to day was the front fogs and grille piece, rear lights and n/s/r quarter glass came out! Did do a bit of sanding on her but not much will get most done over the next few weeks! I do have some parts to sell so will post those up as for now heres a few pics of her at the mo!
enjoi;

this was what the body kit was held on with, as well as rivets!

i will take more on the better camera wen i get it out again this week!
Any help will be much appreciated!

That body kit was well stuck on!! What are your plans for the car?
Welcome by the way!
Yeah dam right it was took an hour to pull off!
Erm at the moment not to sure wana strip it down to bare metal, then sort out the engine, was thinking of rewireing the whole car! Sorting out the interior, too not sure wether to keep back seats or go for boxed out, strut brace and harnesses?? time will decide!
Thinking a brown or beige too? I also have some d90's to play with, not too sure tho classic or modded????
Also have a question, does the front wing and front panel join smoothly or is there a gap between the panels?? mines smooth and i think its not how it should be?

nah the arches are in good condition! But its gonna be fun sracpping off all that gunk! Its a mix of hot glue and black bathroom sealant which is nice not to mention the hundreds of rivets and holes drilled into the body work!

Noticed that the wings were smoothed into the front panel so took a wire wheel to them and found loads of body filler and the two panels spot welded together! Joi!

Like this;

So grinded off the spot welds and removed the wings, the nearside inner wing looked quite good with only a small repair;

just this small square of reapair and weld hiding!
The offside inner wing had more with quite a large panel being replaced, plus a smaller panel near to the wiper motor!

Not to worried about the nearside but do want to cut out the offside and redo the repair just to smarten it up a bit! Also need to sort out the bottom of the wings and front panel as they are slightly bent, hence the body filler cover up!!

MORE TO COME (still not a lot of rust)

I cudnt bare to see a mk1 get scrapped, it would brake my heart if this one went. The skirts where only hiding a dodgy paint job really the two front wings hid the rest but will crack on tonight and see if theres any more hiding out.
