new stance!

hi thought id better start another thread instead of putting another car on my other thread, i bought this off ebay the other day,its a 1983 1.6 gti,it was being used as a track car aswell as a road car before the last owner got it,he bought it for a few spares for his project, its in really good condition its had both floor pans replaced [properly] rear beam mounts welded along with a couple of plates here and there, its sitting on koni dampers and some lowering springs unsure of the make though :dontknow:
the engines not with the car as it was running 1.8 16v,its got brand new brake lines which are inside the car,the fuel lines and hoses are new aswell,im going to put my 1.8 8v engine in it thats from my other mk1,and keep it as a 2 seater toy, heres a few pics, any comments good or bad are welcome!

had a look under the car today and was quite pleased, the only welding really is to double skin the weld from inside the car, i havnt found anything structural
got rid of the wiring loom as it was a home made job and i couldnt make head or tail of it :? ive put the loom out of my other gti in it as its the 1 that went with the engine that will be going in the car, hopefully ill get the dash and the clocks all sorted tomorrow
also changed the suspension for coilovers, not top market ones but they will do just fine for what i want it for,im lovin the new stance,i havnt adjusted it properly yet as i still need to put the engine in,but its coming along just fine :D
heres a few pics of the underneath:

passenger door full of silicone
