why would i want them powdercoated??
they coming off soon and its getting a proper right whallop with the whacking lowering stick…
Had a good poke round today, found RUST, Some more RUST, a bit more RUST lots of water here it shouldnt be..
Auto choke dont work, neither does the heater or rear wiper, the horns been relocated to a bracket off the rocker cover with a switch on the dash, the dash lights dont work so the bulbs been pulled from the heater ocntrols and shove dinto the side of the dash lights.
did i mention the rust?
the arial mounted in a bizzare place, the wings have been seam sealed to the scuttle
the scuttle bit inside has been coate din what looks liek creasote, the underneath has had lashing of waxoyl, probably covering lots of sins, the boot resembles a swimming pool!!
soin all, its a bit of a shed, but a shed with a years ticket, slam and use it whilst the hof gets re-born, then maybe eric will be re-born after

if i was you dismantle it and then soak the parts in a tub of wd 40 and spray some on the motor and the cogs
then leave for a day or so
then whack it direct to your battery with a couple of wires and it shuld free of mine did

It'll all come off in time tho, its just going to be a daily andget used and abused whilst teh hof undergoes his transformation, then if its still alive, I'll start on him too
Just need to sort a few of the little things first to stop them getting worse then all will be ok.
If anyone wants the AA or RAC badges make me an offer by pm…

I did see this on ebay was tempted to make a bid for it because it was so cheap. Looks lovely for the money, what you plan for it then?
not that great really, if it wasnt for it having nigh on a years tax but willsee when i start using it/tinkering..
It stinks inside of DAMP..
As to plans, as said above sort the few little niggles and then whack it with the lowering stick and use it..
Got the mk3 as my daily and also mrslawsy's bluey to use too, so (hopefuly) it'll turn out good which means i may move ont he mk3 and use a permanent daily.

had a poke round this morning and its worse than i first thought, it coudl stay on the road till its next mot, but if the rust thats easily spotted isnt cured NOW then i fear for its survival..
So it may become a parts source for us all yet, just annoying that ALL the DOORS are scabby, the wings have been seam sealed to the car (hopefully not welded)
The interior is tatty, all window rubbers have perished, the tailgate is even damaged
there's lashings of waxoyl/creosote stuff everywhere..
oh well, I'm still  as it could become a garden feature!!!
