my soon to be white mk1

here is my baby ive already put a few pic's up in the newbie section but i thougth i put a few more pic and go into abit more details
i bought it in 2004 with the plans to build a track car (not got any pic's of when i got it   ) but life got in the way and the mk1 got left out in the cold  
so a few years on 2010 i was thinking about selling her but just could'nt do it so thougth it was about time to get her on the road but not as a track car (abit older and wis… well older   ) so what to do then i found a pic i had spotted before i had the car and fell in love so this is sort of want im aiming for

im doing a few things different its not having the single wiper or the audi handles or chrome flag mirrors or the rollcage im also going the a red leather seats
so here some pic's of the build so far
this is how she looked last july at the start of the build
 
i had done some bodywork in the past but it needed doing again as it had gone rusty so i started on the backend it is a s2 but you lot know that but ive all way loved the small back lights but have just lost my job i had no money for a s1 or a s1 backend so ill did it myself

heres a few bit i got her



coilovers and bits fitted

i also fitted so crx seat

also stripped and painted everything




i fitted ploy bushes on everything

next i started on the underneath it all got painted white as did the wheel arches



new fuel and brake lines will be run later
next job was the engine bay




as the car is going to be white and the interior red i thougth id twist things up abit



the orange we be going it just don't look right

anyway thats all for now but will have more updates very soon

Good job on that back end. Not too keen on the red engine bay (but know where your coming from), loose the colour scheme on the engine or it'll look like a dolly-mixture. Other than that great project

i love that white golf.

thank for the replys a i know what you mean about the engine but it looked ok when it was out but i hated it as soon as it went in
it im going to get rid of the orange and see how it looks

thanks again for all your positive massages and i will be starting the prep work for the paint next week so will have some more updates very soon

ive not been no here for a while as work on the mk1 stopped for a bit cuz of other project
but work started again last week i had to fit a new rear valance but thats all done so paint prep has started just hope i can get it painted b4 it gets to cold

different and cool........i like it mate. keep it up
