my first mk1 golf

hi im 17 and been looking for a mk1 golf for a year now but onli being a student not having much money being able to buy one well my lucky changed and was looking and found a 1.1 formula e four door for 100 pound i went had a look and fell in luv with it straight away it had been stode for a year and ran out of petrol and wasnt keeping my hopes up but i put some petrol in the tank turn the car over on the still charged battery and it wasnt man anoth so sucjk the petrol up so sucked it up my self
luvly taste and the while my dad turned it over i poured a lil petrol into top of car and vroom it started like straight away so from then my mission begins the car itself has had a 1.3 engine put in at one time and wondering does anyone no what the E stands for in its name because on the gear stick it dont have 4th its just E and got it home because was dark and had a good look over and was well suprised most of the golfs on hear have lil bit of rust but this one has one lil bit were had a scuff on the rear quarter were has gone throught to paint but it isvery clean even under neath is no rust but the big thing is gonna be today because it has a big leak and been told its the plastic membrane in the door because there all ripped out so the floor carpets are verry wet so gonna get the interior out and up comes the carpets and then we will see whats goin on so i give my self luck and will post some pictures and will keep u posted  thank

sounds good mate, btw its a formel not a formula…sadly u wont be going THAT fast lol.

i found if u pressure wash the carpets it will take most of the smell out…leave it hanging on the line/in ur porch or something.

check underneath plastic arches, where the rear axle mounts on, around the fuel filler neck, fron jacking points, and anywhere else…u will get a much better idea when u take the carpets up
hth all sounds goos mate

Its going to look good with those wheels on it. Your car reminds me of the first MK1 I went to look at, we drove for about 3 hours to get to it and it was totally roten. The guy selling it said it was solid!     I never even spoke face to face with him just seen it parked and had a look!
