And here are some of the bad points.
Rusty copy part wings
Cracked badly repaired arches
Also the front panel had rusted beyond repair (another crappy copy part) and twisted. So that was the 1st thing to go!
Here is the new VAG panel as supplied by GPC. I have later been informed that its a cabrio part but Im not fussed.
Here is the twisted junk I cut off the car.
And these cracks were on the panel before removal.
The front of my car at the mo! Hope it all goes back together. :?

Customed flowed head (Completed by a friend)
2nd exhaust cam used as an inlet cam
1600 FD code gearbox with Quaife torque biasing diff
Helix organic plate clutch
Supersprint group A exhaust system soon to be complemented by a Supersprint manifold
K-jet optimisation
Power & torque: 169bhp & 134lbft Will be up over 180bhp and 150lbft after 2.0L.

Polybushed all round inc engine front engine mount
H&R coilovers
23mm Neuspeed front ARB
28mm ABD rear ARB
256mm 16v brembo front discs with pagid pads
16v rear disc conversion
5.1 brake fluid with 22mm master cylinder and mk2 servo
Interior:
Standard & wear free
Isotta steering wheel and custom VW Motorsport gear knob
Willians 4-point harness with FIA approved release all in black
Exterior:
Factory Atlas grey paint
Debadged and decals removed
Red crystal tail lights
Single lamp front
Smoked front indicators
Standard black trim & bumpers
Chrome early door handles
Beesting arieal already fitted but will delete
BBS RS001 three peice split rims with gold centres
I carry out nearly all the work myself. The only thing I have paid to get done is the flowed head. Well, hope to have it painted before the year is up. 8O

i'l be happy in the early 14s, best so far is 14.7 u know u got a rapid motor when ur in the 13s

o man your work remind me something from my garage ha ha,o yes you must be patient….suriets now-it`s much work i see but mk-1 are day by day more rare i think so good luck in restoration. :y:
Remember, VW made the last car in 1992. After that they started making vehicles.
