Mk1 golf driver
Got it back to the unit and proceeded to remove all of the previous tat that had been added.
My original plan was to get an mot and use it as a daily driver, it sat in the unit for a couple of months and then I made the mistake of taking the arch trims off and poking holes in various places

Doesn't look too bad mate to be honest. I've seen far worse. What's the plan for her then? Standard or engine conversion?
Stripped out, lightweight track slag , I got some berg arches and compomotives but decided on keeping the stock arches instead of cutting them out. I got an abf engine and and am gonna run it on twin 45's.
pics of the arches and comps.
The spare wheel we'll was rusted out so I took the grinder too it
Il get some pics up of the work done so far when my computer stops tripping out.

What plans do you have beyond track and arches ?
Regatta blue is my favourite colour for the mk1 driver
I'm in the middle of restoring a Regatta blue driver, and my arches were worse, due to being very poorly repaired by a previous owner.
We're still cutting out botched rear wheel arch/cill repairs
What you going to do with the interior, cos I'm looking for tweed material to re-upholster my interior in parts ?
Have a look at my blog on here 'Golf driver - winter project '
Good luck with the re-build
Cheers

Pretty much a full rebuild, yeah the arches on mine were rotted out, it's been welded up now though, ended up getting both rear inners and outers done, both sills, lower rear panel and one chassis leg patching, I'm going for a full multi point cage and bucket seat. The original seats were ripped so they got scrapped.

Eibach anti roll bars, powder coated gti beam and weitec hicon tx coil overs
All chassis bits have been powder coated. Superpro poly bushes, crazy quiff anti roll bar clamps and new bolts for everything,
Got some new front calipers,
Trying to find some drawings for the 02a gearbox mounts if anyones got some, I've seen the mounts for sale at just caddys etc but the all seem a lot of cash for what they are.
