Karmann Connection.
Hapnin folks, where best to share my mk1 than here, I'll be scouring these pages during the build, so why not post it?
Well, the story goes that, before xmas I had seen this car for sale and had the idea to buy it for my o/h. I ran it past her, as maybe a pair of GHD's would have been more her bag  . And she said no
She got it anyway
(not my pic)
1.6 manual, jade green, and in need of a little TLC. Basiacally a new hood, better interior, front end paint and a blow-in on the n/s/r corner is what it's getting.
Also, living with a carb, as I've found out with my mk2, ain't that fun. So I'll be fitting a new lump, a 2.1 running k-jet. K-jet keeps it kinda period (though it will be a mk3 2l block and a mk3 diesel crank) and I've heard it makes a torquey and fuel economical conversion.
Thanks for looking.

Wow! Talkative bunch huh!
Well I got a look around it today, door cards are fine, dash is blown though, so in the meantime I'll use the dash from the caddy.
I really like the standard trim tbh, but think It'll be black seats of some sort that go in.
Seats are an abortion tbh, all wrong for the car and they are way too high. rear bench has bomber holes all over.
These guages are horrid with the white dials. And appear to be goosed anyway.
Engine bay is fine, recent new radiator, alternator and battery by the looks of it, starts ok.
And how it stands at the moment
Built-in plunge pool.

Lovely looking car - although I wouldn't want to take a dip in your plunge pool!
And your right - I'm not a fan on those front seats either…

nice car mate, mine came with pool too. It was an easy fix mind just the seals between the roof and window rubbers did them when i changed the roof and it's been water tight since

lol, picking up a pair of classic beetle seats for it tomorrow as we like seats without headrests, failing that, a mate has some mk1 lowbacks.

OK, not gonna be ready for that paint as soon as I thought, blow-in at the tail lamp is turning into a 1/4 panel.
And the windscreen aperture is rotten <_<
And I stripped back that dodgy looking bit on the bonnet.
What a failbodge of a repair, filler was 1/4 inch thick
No good news tonight!

And in better news, Lowbacks, or Beetle seats choices. . . I'm leaning towards the mk1 items
