There are a few guides about.
1, find a good quality mohair skin
2, remove the old and photograph every bit you remove.
3, put the new one back in reverse.
The scary part is cutting the window out at the end. You just have to read, read and read some more and believe that you can do it.

I live in Northern Ireland and was quoted £250 just to fit the roof. Still have to buy the hood etc … Looking at about £575 all in!!!!!
Car hoods in Surrey were charging £375 all in for a mohair roof including, cables and fitting plus vat…. If you can drive down it just might be worth it.
If anyone knows of a fitter in Northern Ireland please let me know..

I would phone Carhood warehouse in Surrey and ask them to recommend a fitter near you or in Scotland… you may have to drive a bit further than you hoped but at least it would be worth it in the end… Also remember to buy a mohair top and not vinyl if possible. It's a better job…
Good luck and keep the faith… hang on to your VW and enjoy life…

have a look in the breaking section see if you can get a complete hood on a frame and just do a bolt off bolt on job, its much easier

It requires skill and it would be so easy to make a ????? of it..
I am dropping mine in tomorrow to get done.. That great man Funk Star sent me seals and the foam seals… and I can't wait…
I would take up that dream man Lhasa advice.. he has given the info and all….
I love this club… Everyone so friendly and helpful… we should all meet for a pint somewhere….. I wonder whose buying the first round???
