Finally repaired my fuel leak [lots of pics]

 Those of you who have been on here a long time may remember my first post ? Hands up who does !

I stumbled on this site when it was the 'Campaign' register way back in 2004  8O . I ran my Mk1 for a few years until it developed a fuel leak , it was a typical rusty but reliable MK1 . Then 18 months ago i took it too bits ….Que pics ………{sorry to those who do not have Broadband} .

Completed pictures [all work carried out by myself at home]
She is still nagging    i recon its cost me ?2000 in parts and materials . Hope you like it ? Cheers Chudd………

I remember! Well done mate, looks superb.    8)

You posted some pics of your rusty arches in my rusty arches post too. I'm embarased to say I've been really lazy and havent got anywhere really with my resto.   My lame excuse is I think its partly because having 3 mk1s and a girlfriend is just too much!… Oh and a damp garage!

Is yours now taxed and tested too? Are you going to put the arches back on?

Great to see all the old pics again Nige, plus the new ones!! Fantastic look to the car overall - not overdone, just enough 8)

I LOVE the wheels and the webasto roof too! You were a very brave man to tackle that and it's paid off (Assuming it doesn't leak?! )

Nice job and I can't wait to see it in the flesh

Beautiful!  8)

Did you lower it, or are those new standard springs which you put on it? Or is it the wheels which are quite small (v. cool btw!) which make it look slightly high?

Cheers

Heya Nigel having seen your car in your avatar I thought it looked finished….. So I dug around and found this thread.

Just wanted to say well done mate! I love the body work repairs/resto and the wheels - Im not a fan of the sunroof or aftermarket lights to be perfectly honest (sorry mate) but the rest of it is awesome :D You must be well chuffed!

Are you using her now and will you be at the shows?

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D

I am selling the MK4 Cab and will use this 'for best' as Granny used to say so will attend a few shows with my DIY Resto and hope to see you all at some time this year .
