Do my CHROME MIRRORS look ok to you?

Hay guys, I have purchased and fitted some chrome mirrors to Goly,
I think I like them but would like the opinion of everyone,
I have also fitted some pressed metal number plates from cyprus to start the euro theme going,
obvioustly the plates are show use only and I would never use them on the public roads
I have also started work on the rusty areas by using some hazard tape to hold it all in!
what are your thoughts on everything?  :dontknow:
Here are some pics.
Take a good look at the mirrors! £5.49 from halfords! supposed to be for a push bike

Pressed metal plates 25 Euros from cyprus and no messing about with I.D. (can also see the mirrors)

Rust remedy hazard tape!! (can also see the mirrors)

Any feedback good or bad greatly appreciated!!
Thanks for looking, Paul.

Honesty is the best policy dude,
If nobody likes them they will be off!
only takes 2 mins to swap them back!

Absolutely.

I got a Chrome bullet shaped mirror on mine. Not to everybody's taste, but I love it!

mirrors

I laughed when i saw your mirrors mate, but to be fair when i thought about it you have prob come up with one of the most funky ideas i've seen for a bit  :D  Do they fold in at 80 mph plus ???

Could I suggest that they don't look quite right because everything else on the car is angular, square and styled by a man with a ruler, so roundy mirrors fight the general vibe?  Might work better if they were a lot bigger/the arm wasn't so long/they were right at the end of the arm and that was curved, rather than straight?  Good to see someone trying their own thing though mate and ultimately it's your car; if you like them, they stay!

Hopefully slightly more helpful note re: plates; I got gripped by the Rozzers for having my German ones on the other day and they were most displeased.  Got a "chat" about how it's quite common for driveaways, bank robbers and general bad men to use them as the ANPR cameras can't read them.  Fair enough, but how many bank robbers use white F-reg Clippers with a baby seat (and baby) in the front?  Still, I found that the correct response when busted is "I'm terribly sorry officer, I've just come back from a show and I forgot all about them.  I have the proper ones in the boot and I shall change them immediately/as soon as I get home/if you can lend me a screwdriver" etc.

What about round pedals to go with them, and a round interior mirror?  All the controls are round (well, the steering wheel and gear knob are) and you could get rid of the square rear lights and put mk1 Cortina units (or Landrover ones I suppose) on instead?

All positive comments I see
What shape are your headlamps Rupe76??
Do you have a square VW badge on the front too!?
Think the mirrors are staying on until the AGM so I can see just how much more stick I can get!!
Thanks for info on plates, will keep the standard ones in the booty!
Also, only had Goly for 3 months so need time and cash to start work properly.
Coilovers first, wanted before AGM but will have to wait until August.
Any more comments on my subtle mods so far??

dont like the mirrors or tape, plates are ok but will warrant unwanted attention from the bizzys i would think, especially with the "CY" on them, but at the end of the day it's your car and to your taste, so enjoy it..
