At Last

Just spent an hour introducing my new Mk1 that I am extremely proud of for my computer to crash and loose the lot

 :banghead:

So Finally found the Mk1 I've been looking for - been hard graft doing just that too, I wanted one that some talented person not like myself had put Blood Sweat and Tears into the bodywork as in all honesty if I attempted this I reckon it would only be good for scrap
My talent (the little I do posess) lies with the engine, electrics and interior

Where do I start??? What was done to the body:

Complete bare metal strip and respray including engine bay (roman Bronze - acquired taste but one I quite fancy)
New front wings
New Front Panel
Both New Sills
New Scuttle
Both Rear Arches new and pulled out by 2"
Attention to rear valance
Both rear axle mounts fabricated with proper steel (not the ebay chocolate ones)
Underneath shot blasted then primed and undersealed
New Fuel tank and lines

The Engine:

It didn't have one to start and was a 1.1 originally
A 1.8 ex engine from a Scirocco Auto with 54k on the clock was found and this got stolen and put into place along with a Mk2 16v gearbox (new clutch and flywheel too, oh and custom fabricated rear engine mount)
All wired up and sweet as a nut  8)
It also benefitted from a complete rebuild incl all bearing seals and gaskets along with
Alternator
Radiator
Water pump
Cambelt
Starter Motor
Hoses
Pulleys
plugs leads
Distributor
Sensors
You get the idea!!!

Then the Chassis stuff:
All new suspension
Arms (polybushed all round)
Front and rear anti roll bars fitted
New brakes and lines front and rear
Rear axle stripped and powder coated

The interior needs some work to which I cant wait to get stuck into and make it something real special - currently has a Mk2 dash but I'm not so sure on this and red Mk1 interior (all is extremely clean but not to my taste so will get dealt with in due course)

I'm sure I have missed something along the line but the pics will avail all

Feel free to comment, good or bad feedback welcome. Just can't wait to get it to shows and meets  :)

I saw this on eBay too, I really like the colour!
But I think maybe changing the trim to chrome would help lighten it up a bit?
Just my thoughts :)
