Ive wanted a standard S1 4 door for a while now and I posted a few *wanted* ads around facebook and on forums etc
I got a reply from Rich B on facebook (bluey12) about the S1 he had for sale, which he told me was in pretty much original condition. The only problem was that he was 4 hours away from Bristol

Morning came and after an early breakfast drove another 30 minutes up north to Rich's place.
Fell in love with the car straight away it was exactly what I was looking for;
1978 1.5 GLS
55,000 Miles
I will owner 4
Original condition.
Then came the most depressing bit of buying a car……..

A few £ later I was proud owner of my S1 which drove fantastic back to Bristol
230 mile trip from Rich's house to mine and it didnt miss a beat

Doesn't look like she needs anything doing, so that's a bonus.

Yea it was all good apart from the M5 and M6 traffic!
I know that feeling mate. Coming back from ooop North a few weeks ago. got stuck in 35 miles of slow moving traffic which was caused for no apparent reason.

Ive been having a look on there at Golf GLS and there are 3 registered 1977 2 of which are SORN and and 10 from 1978 6 of which are sorn.
So i could POTENTIALLY have the 4th oldest GLS in the country or look at it another way the 2nd oldest on the road
