Another mk1 thingy

hay Folks…

After swearing I wouldnt buy me another…i went and bought me another.  I havent got around to actually doing any real work on her but then I invaded old gregs workspace and allll is good…SO hopefully i shal be posting "How do you open the glove box" type questions on here…cos im a dumb arse.

I recons i shal need to replace the bonnet,ns door,seats,rear and front panel,both arches,end of the sills AND THE ROOF!!

Any ideas ?

looks like a good start

as to the roof there are plenty knocking around on ebay and here so i'd replace

but the again i do like to have a go at fixing things

yeah the roof seems to be the worst part,iv been looking around for a full roof but they seem hard to come by. I might just weld a huge patch in there...

i finaly dragged myself away from red tube and did a bit of zinging. I sent some bits to the sandblasters,covered them with the old zinga (which is a pain to spray on)








Anyone tried this stuff (aparently they prime submarines with it..hmm)


The heat shield was soooo rusty it had/has holes in. Nothing a bit of wood wont fix.

Found a lovely piece of wood,chopped it to size and glued it on…good as new

try funkstar his always breaking mk1s so he might have a roof

or crazy quiffs

or there is a shell on here for sell with no log book so you could get that cheap and have the roof off that

or ask jelly to pop over for the day lol

aparently you cant weld wood…but the guy in the shop said you can. grrr. looks like i will have to get a roof (i shal use the wood on other areas,like the brakes)

Ahhhhhh thanks for the info,i was going to ask quiffy,then i found 3 roof's in the space of 12 hours (it doesnt rain it 2 come at once).

top work so far mate, looks to be in a similar state to mine bar the roof!
