il add a load of pics this time and update as the project progresses
The morning after she turned up at 11:30 at night on a low loader in the dark. bought unseen.

relatively pleased with what i found

bad repair on drivers door

looks ok on the other side 8)

inside

New wheels, plus a colour test



and fitted

thats it for now but iv just bought a new hood and need to get on with a few niggly jobs. i also have a new front and rear panel for it and need a sill. need to learn how to weld, fast.
it needs a full service but aftwer a new battery she fired straight up

want it running right and electrics attending to before i start really spending. hood was a bargain and wheels a necessity (so i told the mrs.)

Im gutted i just fitted two brand new rear arches
changed the auto box for a manual had it moted and taxed then some tinker slammed me from behind and wrote mine off.
good thing out of it i went and bought a mk 1 caddy i been after one for a few years it looks ruff but its fairly solid except the bed im doing that one hemi orange same colour as the genral lee,im either going to fit a 1.8 8v gti engine or g60 it.

im keeping mine 1.5 under the bonnet for now. just want it clean and original. just quite low i think. nothing that cant be undone if needs be.
gutted about your gl. iv always had a thing for early gl's.
i might need some electrical bits and bobs, il be in touch when i know what though :dontknow:

im waiting on a hood turning up and il have some fun fitting it, want to lower the car and get it running right. i need an exhaust and need a crash course in welding to fit my new front and rear panels.

i now have my roof but its come away behind the rear quarter window. i also have a new exhaust and coilovers ready to go on. its not been a fast build but iv pretty much got all the bits. gonna start asking some questions on here and hope to get some good advice on here.

did an oil change yesterday and it seems better but the carbs not right im sure. these old cars get on my nerves now and again but i know once its done itll all be worth it

have you spotted my single lamp too 8)

i sanded the splitter down and got started on the door.


then my mate (worth on here) turned up in this

and iv just done a couple of bits and bobs since then.
iv bought a weber (possibly the wrong one :redfaced: ) and a few other things i cant remember.
the plan was to be on the road this summer but thats been swept aside now with other commitments but all being well it will see christmas. seems ages off but there is a lot to do and not much spare time with kids work and everything else.
its a marathon not a sprint

just enjoying being back in a mk1 even if it is sitting in the garage haha!

not done a lot but have stacked some cool parts.
i need to prioritise the workload but within the next few months she will be low, will be painted, will be running right and will be electrically sound. i hope
