Looks impressive, including coilovers and disc brake conversion at the rear! Interesting to note the headlamps - do they have a chrome surround on them?

very nice, I like what you've done to it….I didn't realise that you could get electric mirrors for a mk1

Looking very good, excellent work on the roof skin. Assume you used cellulose to spray it with, very good results.

Excellent - Check out the dampers that the bumper mounts to! Are you keeping those on it?

no, I won't be keeping them. They are massive. the 5 mile per hour US standard… they worked nicely to mount to my "tiptissorie"
Non of the MK1s here had electric mirrors, but you could put the MK2 electric mirrors in. Some had electric windows though..
Thanks for the replys.

There was absolutely no distortion. it's perfect. kinda scary to do it since I"m not a autobody man, I glued it on with some hellasous 3M Panel Glue. The only way you can tell the roof has been replaced is that the rain gutters have the original black trim to cover up the joint where the two pieces connect….

Been a little while since an update.
I rewired the entire front of the car (hidden)
New Euro H4 headlights with city lights (US lights are rounded not flat)
Set up lights and rad fan with relays
New radiator (custom) to lower the top hose for clearance past new air filters
Installed 77 upper strut mounts with poly inserts
Chromed the mounts
Rolled the fenders (wings)
installed BBS wheels
Installed lower aluminum panel on lower rad support.
Welded (smoothed) upper rad support
THink that is all
I'm aquiring pics as they are taken. i was at a show in Allentown, PA last weekend.. Getting some more pro shots taken next month I hope.
Waiting to get the pics from Kris. he took some engine shots.
Thanks
