im's pm's???

So how do PM's work now i'm trying to send but can only find IM's? Is IM the new PM? if not how do I send a PM and how can I set alerts on either???

go on the person profile, then click "start new private topic" (PT)

then when you get a reply a message shows above new forum posts with header:

You have a new personal post in a topic "car on ebay" sent by arf333 on 8:18 PM
