email notification

how do i set it so i just get one email to each of the topics I have replied to like the old site?

rather than getting an email everytime someone posts on the topic, had a good look in my profile but can't find it

Have you looked in 'profile' then the tab 'edit' then tab with notifications………..

Just uncheck the boxes

but doesn't that just remove all email notifications? i just want to receive one email to the topic i had replied to, regardless of how many replies have been posted before i come back to it, rather than receiving many emails to each post until i come back to the forum.

does that make sense?

That does make sense JonP and your right that is the norm on a phpbb type forum, let me see if I can find anything out to see if it can be customised like this again

That would be good. I logged into my e-mail and couldnt believe how popular I was. I had loads of e-mails!

Sorry to resurrect this thread.  I have marked the 'cars for sale' sub forum to be monitored but I haven't received any email notifications yet and topics have been posted.

I've looked at the settings in my profile and think they are correct.  Has anyone else got something similar working not necessarily with the same sub forum?  I think the notifications for an individual thread are working if someone posts a reply, just the monitor forum not working!

cars for sale section won't have reply posts to them because you can't comment there.

Can I get notifications of new threads being started in this section?

you will if you've set that button but no comment can be made.

Have we had any news on this yet? I like to know when I have had a reply to a post, but my e-mail inbox is getting rammed. Can it be like the old site and just get one e-mail to say you have had a responce?

Sorry at present we don`t have this feature available, I have checked and we may be able to add it at a later date, but until then you can only receive all topic replies on the topics you are following and not just one until your re-visit the site.

I haven't changed my settings and I am not getting any at all now except new PM notifications
